The Persons with Disability Advisory Council (PWDAC) wishes to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the World Press Freedom Day. The celebrations for the World Freedom Day began in 1991 at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO) Conference where the landmark Windhoek Declaration was adopted. The declaration which focused on print media, considered various issues on freedom of expression, access to information and public service role of journalism.
In August 2025, Lesotho Sign Language (LSL) was formally recognised as an Official Language in Lesotho in the 10th Amendment to the Constitution. This was more than a symbolic milestone, but a powerful commitment towards equality, and full participation for deaf persons.
